Who We Are

About Wisdomof250

An independent project made with care, for its own sake.

"With something this significant on the horizon, could we do something worthy of it?"

We thought we could.

Wisdomof250 is the work of a small independent team of former graphic artists and web designers who took it on as a passion project. We came to it not as historians or journalists but as people who care about craft — design that respects its subject, and the kind of attention to detail that most side projects never quite manage to sustain.

The site covers the national events of the Semiquincentennial alongside the quieter local celebrations that rarely make the news but often matter more. Our Cities & Towns calendar tracks what communities across all fifty states are doing to mark the occasion. Our blog explores what 250 years of American history actually means, one topic at a time. And our Explore section brings together the music, cinema, and stamps that have told the American story across the centuries.

Wisdomof250 is an entirely independent project — unaffiliated with America250 or the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission, and free of sponsors or outside support of any kind. What you see here was made for its own sake.
